I'm currently partnering with a global leader in healthcare technology to recruit a Procurement Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Oxfordshire.
Pay rate: up to £300 per day

🚀 The Role
As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies and optimising product costs across a complex, global supply chain. You'll work closely with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective components are delivered consistently.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost analysis and cost optimisation activities across the product lifecycle
- Deliver value engineering initiatives (should-cost modelling, benchmarking, etc.)
- Support design teams with cost estimates and manufacturing insights
- Collaborate with global suppliers to meet design-to-cost and manufacturability targets
- Support procurement teams during supplier negotiations
- Drive continuous improvement and support digital procurement initiatives
- Build strong relationships with international stakeholders

✅ About You
Experience:
- Background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar
- Experience within procurement, engineering, or supply chain
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining, fabrication, assemblies)
- Proven experience in cost analysis and cost optimisation
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Confident working in cross-functional and international teams
- Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
